The manifesto
The prescription is just
the beginning.
What we believe about life on a GLP-1. What we’ll do about it. And what we won’t.
What we know
Eight things nobody put
in the pamphlet.
Nobody prepares you for the silence where the food noise used to be.
When it goes quiet, it doesn’t just feel like relief. It can feel disorienting. Most people feel both.
Week six is when most people quietly give up.
We write for that week.
You deserve answers from someone who has been there.
Not just someone who has studied it.
The cooking problem is real.
Cooking for a GLP-1 appetite is its own thing entirely.
Maintenance is the hardest phase.
It’s also the least supported. Weight loss has a finish line. Maintenance doesn’t.
You are not failing.
You are navigating something nobody adequately prepared you for.
Real help isn’t cheerleading.
It’s honest, practical, and specific enough to use tonight.
Getting Quiet exists because it should have existed already.
Our values
What we believe.
01
Honesty over optimism
We don’t tell people week six will be easy. We tell them it’s hard, and what helped. The truth, even when it’s uncomfortable, is more useful than false reassurance.
02
Lived experience over clinical distance
Getting Quiet was started by someone who lost 110 lbs on a GLP-1. That’s not a marketing line. It’s the reason this exists.
03
Human warmth, always
The emotions around rapid body change are complicated. We meet people where they are, not where we wish they were.
04
Practicality, not perfection
You don’t need a perfect meal plan. You need a real one. High protein, tiny portions, no enormous batch of leftovers. Help built for the actual experience, not the idealized one.
05
Persistence over motivation
Motivation is unreliable. Routines are not. We care less about the rush of week one than about what you can still do in month fourteen.
06
The whole journey, not just the loss
Most programs end at goal weight. Maintenance is harder. The shift in identity that comes after is harder still. We talk about that before you need it, not after.
What we won’t do
And a few promises
in the other direction.
We won’t pretend to be your doctor.
Dosing, side effects, and treatment decisions belong with your care team. We’ll help you get your questions in order before you walk in.
We won’t promise you a number.
No guaranteed pounds. No before-and-after bait. One person’s experience is exactly that.
We won’t ask you to go public.
Tell everyone or tell no one. You’re welcome here either way.
We won’t sell our opinion.
If we recommend something, it’s because we’d tell a friend. If we wouldn’t, we’ll say that too.
Our mission
“To give every person on a GLP-1 the practical help, honest company, and lived experience their prescription didn’t come with.”
