The prescription came with instructions. Life was apparently sold separately.

Dear You,
I’m glad you’re here.
I lost 110 pounds on a GLP-1, and I’ve maintained roughly the same size for about two years. The prescription changed my appetite. Nobody gave me a manual for everything else.
That’s what The Quiet Part is for. We’ll talk about the things that get strange when your appetite changes: dinner, friends, clothes, paperwork, and whatever happens after everyone decides you’re “done.”
What we’ll talk about
- When food goes fuzzy. Appetite, cravings, and the odd gap where dinner planning used to be.
- The tiny-appetite kitchen. Small-batch cooking, freezer portions, shopping lists, and fewer vegetables dying for the cause.
- Life around a table. Restaurants, travel, a changed interest in alcohol, and friends who miss the old routine.
- The paperwork part. Insurance vocabulary, prior authorizations, pharmacy calls, and renewal reminders. Plans differ, and I’ll say so.
- After goal weight. Maintenance routines, plateaus, the fear of regain, and getting ready for long-term conversations with your care team.
- Same person. Different fitting room. Clothes, compliments, old photos, identity, and boundaries. Stories without compulsory positivity.
What this is, and what it isn’t
I can tell you what happened to me. I can help you organize the questions. The medical decisions belong with your prescriber.
You can be private about it. You don’t owe anyone the details.
Start with the part you need. There’s no homework police.

Getting Quiet shares lived experience, general education, and practical tools. For medical decisions and individual treatment questions, talk with your qualified care team.
